Mr Willmott is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in foot and ankle surgery. He works at the Kent Institute of Medicine and Surgery (KIMS) in Maidstone and the Spire Sussex Hospital in Hastings. His NHS practice is based at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings. 

Mr Willmott is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He qualified in 2004 and undertook his postgraduate surgical training in London and the South East. During his training he obtained a Master of Science degree in orthopaedics and conducted research into improving the surgical treatment of arthritis.

After completing his general training, he was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association Travelling Fellowship Award and worked at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington DC, USA. He then undertook the prestigious AO Fellowship at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, gaining additional experience in complex foot and ankle surgery.

 

On returning to the UK, he underwent further sub-specialty fellowship training in Bournemouth, where he gained experience in the management of a wide range of foot and ankle problems.

Mr Willmott is author of 'Trauma and Orthopaedics At A Glance', a popular text book for medical students and junior doctors.

What Would You Like to Know?

Do I need a GP referral letter?

Mr Willmott does not require a referral from your GP. You can contact his secretary to arrange and appointment directly. If you plan on using medical insurance, your insurance company may require a referral from your GP. You should check this with your insurer.

How much does an initial consultation cost?

If you are using medical insurance, the cost will depend upon the terms of your policy. If you are paying for your own treatment, the cost of an initial 30 minute appointment is £225. Investigations such as X-rays or scans will be charged by the hospital, although most insurers will cover this cost.

Is there a waiting list?

An appointment is usually available within a week. If you require an operation it will be scheduled according to clinical need. We will endeavour to be flexible to fit in with your other commitments. If you require urgent treatment, then you will be treated accordingly.

Where can I see Mr Willmott?

Mr Willmott works at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone and Spire Sussex Hospital in Hastings. He also has an outpatient clinic at Sevenoaks Medical Centre and at Estuary View Medical Practice in Whitstable. Please call 01622 538185 to make an appointment.
